To me, taper candles have always been those white or ivory batons that get displayed in a pair of silver holders in a dining room or on a mantle when company comes for the holidays.  Formal, expected, and a little dull.  Lately, I've really been loving the look of tapers in bright or unexpected colors.  It shifts the focus from the holder to the candle itself, and it's way more interesting and playful.  I love hot pink or aqua tapers with brass or clear acrylic holders, placed either as a symmetrical pair for a colorful twist on tradition, or a cluster of holders in varying heights.  Try grey candles from CB2, hot pink tapers from Bertu Candles, or check out the selection of colors at Creative Candles.
